MRSON EQUIPMENTS, a Pune-based company, has recently made a significant breakthrough in the realm of green energy. As global energy demands continue to rise, it is imperative to shift towards renewable sources to ensure sustainability. Traditional non-renewable resources are finite, making the adoption of alternative energy sources crucial for long-term energy security.
Currently, the most common renewable energy sources include solar, wind, water, geothermal, tidal, and biomass energy. Among them, solar energy is widely used but remains expensive and time-consuming to recover. Furthermore, conventional renewable energy solutions face challenges such as low efficiency, dependence on weather conditions, storage limitations, high costs, and the need for extensive infrastructure.
The SOLOGRAVITY project aims to address these challenges by utilizing gravity as a primary energy source, offering increased efficiency, cost savings, and scalable solutions. This innovative green energy system integrates gravitational potential energy and solar energy to enhance energy production.
The SOLOGRAVITY Solution
The system is based on an anti-gravity chamber filled with water, leveraging the relationship between mass and gravitational, acceleration (g = 9.8 m/s²). While the mass of water remains constant, the anti-gravity chamber controls the gravitational force acting upon it.
Using solar-generated electricity, the system Value of Gravitational acceleration (g) is decreased from 9.8 m/s² to as low as 1.8 m/s² in a test setup at MRSON works. This reduction makes the water nearly weightless, significantly easing the process of elevating it. Once lifted, the water is stored in a secondary reservoir and then directed into a high-efficiency turbine, generating electricity.
The power required to lower the gravitational force and raise the water is approximately 60-65% less than the energy output of the turbine, leading to net energy production. After passing through the turbine, the water is redirected back into the anti-gravity chamber, allowing the process to repeat continuously. This cycle ensures a consistent and reliable supply of electricity.
Advantages of SOLOGRAVITY
- Higher Efficiency: The system requires significantly less input power compared to traditional hydroelectric dams.
- Lower Infrastructure Costs: No need for large-scale water reservoirs or extensive dam construction.
- Sustainable and Eco-Friendly: No emissions or pollutants during energy production.
- Continuous Power Generation: Operates 24/7 without dependence on sunlight, wind, or external storage solutions.
- Reduced Transmission Load: Distributed generation reduces the strain on power transmission lines, minimizing maintenance costs and failures.
- Applicability to Industrial Use: Can be used for green hydrogen production and as an alternative to captive power plants.
Future Prospects
Miss Farha Naaz, Project Execution Head, highlighted the increasing global focus on renewable energy. India, in particular, aims to electrify 80% of its vehicles by 2040, further escalating electricity demands. With major investments flowing into the renewable sector, including equity and debt funding, SOLOGRAVITY presents an attractive alternative to traditional solar energy systems. Its faster return on investment (3-5 years) and reduced land requirements make it appealing to large electricity consumers and investors.
Farha Naaz also mentioned that the project is currently in its final stage of prototype implementation and testing, following successful theoretical and simulation evaluations.
Mr. Adwait Parale, the Primary Investigator and Director of MRSON EQUIPMENTS, brings over 15 years of expertise in research and development, particularly in advanced technology and industrial machinery. He revealed that MRSON is actively engaging with government authorities to initiate a pilot project in collaboration with the Government of India.
According to Adwait Parale, commercial deployment of SOLOGRAVITY is expected by the end of 2025, potentially revolutionizing the renewable energy landscape. This system can be utilized in various industrial sectors, including green hydrogen production and decentralized power generation, making it a promising alternative to traditional captive plants.
A Sustainable Future
SOLOGRAVITY is designed to provide continuous electricity generation, eliminating the need for expensive battery storage and inverters. Additionally, the decentralized nature of the system reduces dependence on large transmission networks, lowering maintenance costs and ensuring energy accessibility even in remote and rural areas.
With zero emissions and a sustainable cycle, SOLOGRAVITY offers a climate-friendly approach to renewable energy.
