Watch: To Celebrate a Century Against the England Lions, KS Bharat Imitates Lord Ram’s Warrior Pose

It happened on January 20, the last day of an unofficial Test match between India A and the England Lions. Bharat used his bat to mimic the famous bow and arrow motion after scoring his hundred with a boundary.

“One to remember,” he said as he posted a video of the celebration on Instagram. Jai, Guru Ram.

India A was pursuing a daunting 490 runs in the fourth innings of the unofficial Test, staged at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad, when Bharat scored an undefeated 116 off 165 balls.

India A were bowled out for only 227 runs in their first innings, which put them in a precarious position.

During the game, the England Lions batted first and amassed an enormous 553 runs, helped by centuries from skipper Josh Bohannon and opener Keaton Jennings.

Only Rajat Patidar gave India A a meaningful score in response.

With a calm 151, the youthful top-order batsman enabled his team to surpass the 200-run threshold. Only Tushar Deshpande, among others, was able to score higher than twenty.

With a 326-run deficit, the England Lions decided to end their second innings at 163/6.

This time, Jennings maintained his amazing form and scored 64 runs, while James Rew hammered an undefeated fifty-five.

Abhimanyu Easwaran, the captain of India A, was dismissed early in the opening over of the chase. Even Patidar left early, scoring just four runs.

At that point, Sarfaraz Khan and Sai Sudarshan assumed leadership roles.

After putting up an 87-run partnership, Khan was removed after 55 runs. Pradosh Paul and Manav Suthar, the up-and-coming batsmen, further showed their worth by hitting 43 and 89 runs, respectively.

Sai Sudarshan was impeccable and was only three runs short of a century.

India A finished the final day with 426 runs for the loss of 5 wickets, driven by Bharat’s effort.

In five Test matches, Bharat has only amassed 129 runs while playing for India. The Andhra Pradesh batsman has been selected for the first two Test matches of the England series, despite his dismal performance in red-ball cricket.
