Demis Hassabis, CEO of DeepMind, says that Google plans to relaunch an enhanced AI tool with enhanced capabilities in a few weeks. This is the Gemini AI Image Generator

According to Reuters, Google DeepMind CEO Demis Hassabis said that Google Gemini AI, whose activities have been halted due to public criticism for errors in pictures used for historical portrayals, may soon restart.

Google, an Alphabet subsidiary, began offering picture creation earlier this month by using its Gemini AI models. However, several people noted on social media that it sometimes resulted in historical photos that were incorrect.

“Until we solve it, we’ve taken the functionality down. At a discussion at the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona, Hassabis said, “We hope to bring that back online within the next few weeks.” He went on to say that the Gemini AI images tool was not operating as the business had intended.

The share price of Alphabet, Google’s parent firm, was also damaged. In the afternoon, the market saw a 3.5% overall decline, which is regarded as one of the worst drags on the benchmark S&P 500 index.

This is not the first time, however; a year ago, during the release of a promotional movie for the introduction of its generative AI chatbot Bard, Google released misleading information about photos of a planet outside of our solar system. This led to a 9% drop in the company’s stock price.

Google rebranded Bard as Gemini earlier this month and offered consumers a choice of premium membership options to enhance the AI model’s reasoning abilities.

Google has said that it would relaunch the picture generator with improved capabilities that could provide more accurate answers, although it is uncertain whether the newly deployed Gemini AI will be able to allay its racial fears. The picture generator allegedly showed many discrepancies about skin tone, ancestry, and other characteristics.
