<p>After opening up about her heartbreak over the death of 23-year-old Ana Clara Benevides, who is believed to have fainted before her heart attack death on Friday, November 17, while she was in the front row of the Estadio Nilton Santos in Rio de Janeiro in temperatures of 60 degrees Celsius to see Swift perform, the singer decided to call off the show on November 18.</p>
<p>“I’m writing from the stadium’s dressing room. The severe heat in Rio have led to the decision to postpone tonight’s event. In her statement that she was canceling her concert, Taylor said, “The safety and well-being of my fans, fellow performers, and crew always has to come first,” according to aceshowbiz.com.</p>
<p>Since no more details were provided, it is unknown when the concert will take place. A few hours before, Taylor had shared with her followers on Instagram Stories that she was “overwhelmed” with sadness over Ana’s unexpected death.</p>
<p>In a message that was uploaded to her Instagram Stories, she discussed the tragedy: “It’s hard for me to write these words, but I’m sad to announce that we lost a fan before my concert earlier tonight. The extent of my devastation at this cannot possibly be expressed.”</p>
<p>Swift continued, saying that apart from the fact that the fan was “so incredibly beautiful and far too young,” she has “very little information” regarding her passing.</p>
<p>She stated: “I’m not going to be able to speak about this from stage because I feel overwhelmed by grief when I even try to talk about it.”</p>
<p>“I would want to express that I am now grieving much for her family and friends. When we chose to do this trip to Brazil, I never imagined what has happened to us.”</p>
<p>Ana posted on social media about the hours she spent waiting to enter Estadio Nilton Santos and about the events leading up to her death. According to one video, the outdoor temperature of the stadium was 35C, or around 95F.</p>
<p>Swift’s audience were clamoring for refreshments at one point, so she interrupted her performance many times to beg for water.</p>
